March 24, 2020

Spend a fascinating evening learning about one of Texas’ longest running and deadliest feuds. The infamous Stafford-Townsend Feud spanned decades and plagued Colorado County with gunfights, ambushes, sabotage, and murder. Local historian James Kearney will delight guests with a presentation based on his book No Hope for Heaven, No Fear of Hell. The wild tale of the feud is filled with intrigue, drama, and excitement. You don’t want to miss it!

After the presentation, CHPT president Ester Chandler will present the annual Laura Ann Rau Historic Preservation Award to our 2020 winner.

The History Forum will be held in the Buddy Rau Room of the Stafford Opera House. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
